Fitra and Journey's End
Fred and David on the Fitra battlefield.
The Hostigi battleline and abatis would have been just to the left,
following the path of the brook.
The Nostori troops charged from the right towards this line.
From this point we traced, in reverse, the march of the
Nostori troops through
East Hostigos and around the Bald Eagle Mountains to the north.
We returned to Hostigos town to view the gap and discuss which side of that gap
Tarr Hostigos
would have occupied.
The trip moved on to Esdreth, Fyk and finally to Sask and the graveyard where H.
Beam Piper lies.
(Pictures of many of the locations mentioned here may be found in the
Kalvan Tour.)
Piper's grave is right at the front of the Altoona Fairview Cemetery
in the front and center of this picture.
Unfortunately we didn't find it at our journey's end, but Dennis returned the
following morning
and found a member of the Cemetery board who pointed him in the right direction.
